Our Voices Xpose Big Tobacco! Press Conference
with OVX youth leaders speaking their minds.
Nov. 15, 2012 – the 37th Great American Smokeout
10:00 – 10:30 a.m.
Doubletree Hotel, 1117 Williston Rd., Burlington
location of the northern Vermont OVX/VKAT youth training
Our Voices Exposed (OVX) is a youth-led, youth-run movement focused on exposing the truth about Big Tobacco. OVX and their partner middle school group – Vermont Kids Against Tobacco (VKAT) – work to educate and inform peers on how to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.
Tobacco use kills more Americans than AIDS, alcohol, car crashes, murders, suicide, drugs and fires combined. In Vermont, more than 800 people die from a smoking-related cause every year. Half of all smokers who continue using will likely die from a smoking-related cause.
