The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources will hold a public meeting Wednesday, April 30 on a new long-range management plan for the state-owned 947-acre Atherton Meadows Wildlife Management Area in Whitingham.
The WMA is located east and west of Route 100 and south of Harriman Reservoir. Some important features of the area include wetlands, deer wintering areas, remote big game habitat, and a snowmobile corridor trail.
The public meeting on April 30 will be held at the Jacksonville-Whitingham Town Office from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. to present the proposed plan and get public input. A short slide show will outline the history, existing natural resources and proposed future management.

Directions to Jacksonville/Whitingham Town Offices from Wilmington, Vermont: Take Route 9 and 100 east out of Wilmington 1.2 miles. Take a right onto Route 100 south approximately 5.5 miles. The town office will be on the right just before Jacksonville Village. Follow Fish & Wildlife signage to meeting location.
