| Summary: | The primary focus of this rule is to update the Vermont adoption of the International Plumbing Code from the 2003 edition to the 2009 edition. The rules are also reorganized to improve usability and avoid duplication. |

| Economic Impact: | The most significant economic impacts for changes described in these rules are from changes established by the Vermont Legislature and are not created or established by these rules. The legislature approved increased fees for plumbing licenses and permits effective 07/01/10. Costs may have increased up to 15 for pipe and certain plumbing fixtures due to the consumer protection law regarding lead content passed by the legislature that established more stringent requirements than the International Plumbing Code effective 01/01/10. Long term energy costs may be reduced due to the repeal by the legislature of the minimum temperature requirements for water heaters. |
