Credit/debit cards are processed by a third party online service at a higher total price. The total price is through Vermont.gov, the state's official web portal, and supports the state's websites and online services. The online price of items or services purchased through Vermont.gov helps fund the costs necessary to develop, maintain, enhance and expand the service offerings of the state portal. The additional cost associated with the online service is not imposed or retained by the Vermont Department of Agriculture.
Vermont.gov is the entity under contract with the State of Vermont to build and host the State Web Portal and develop online services for the state. Based in Montpelier, this organization is helping Vermont to become an E-State by aggregating the various state websites into one standards based system, and to provide the state's businesses and citizens with the online services they have come to expect and deserve.
